Quick Ways To Lose Weight & Compliment Workout Routines

There are quick ways to lose weight that are healthy. It is possible to lose weight fast without risking your health...there are just a few things to keep in mind. Okay, if you're looking for quick ways to lose weight, you're probably tring to look good for something or someone (smile). Maybe you need to fit into a new suit or dress for an upcoming wedding, class reunion, or special meeting.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good and there are many ways to lose weight quickly. But you do want to be careful not to damage your health in the process.

I've done the Cabbage soup diet, the meat only diet, the grapefruit diet, and probably some others that I've long since forgotten.

The problems I had with those dietsis they weren't healthy for me (at least the way I did them); they didn't give me lasting results; and the weight returned faster and greater than before. For example, if I lost 8 pounds on the diet, I would gain 10 or 12 when I went off the diet.

Despite some personal failures, I know for a fact, quick ways to lose weight do exist and fast weight loss can be achieved in a healthy way. I've achieve healthy quick weight loss personally, in various ways. Most recently, when I did a 3 Day Cleanse with a meal replacement shake, I succeeded at losing 7 pounds in 3 days.

I'll explain more on that later....

Quick Ways To Lose Weight And Be Proactive

I knew in January that my family vacation was going to be in July. I got started right away working on my weight loss goals. What you don't want to do is wait five days before your event to try to lose several pounds.

Being a weight loss enthusiast (smile) I knew from experience that I needed to increase my cardio and eat healthier if I planned to drop the pounds. I set a goal to lose only 1 pound per week over a 6 month period.

The point here is to start as soon as you know you're going to have a special event coming up. Don't wait until the last minute. The more time you have. The healthier your weight loss plan tends to be.

Quick Ways To Lose Weight Eating Healthier

But, let's say that you don't know six months in advance. What then? What are some healthier ways to lose weight fast?

One of the easiest things you can do to lose weight fast is reduce your sodium and starch intake. When I limited salt, high sodium processed foods, potatos- french fries (which were bad for me anyway), rice, and pasta, I noticed a difference almost immediately.

By reducing high sodium and starchy foods in your diet you can drop 5 pounds of water weight fast (in a weeks time), because these are the types of foods that make you retain excess water.

A more obvious thing you can do to lose weight fast is lower your calorie intake. When I lowered my daily caloric intake between 1200 and 1500 calories per day, I lose weight more quickly. I don't go lower because I'd be too hungry. Couple that with 30-60 minutes of exercise 4-5 times per week and you will see fast weight loss.

Quick Ways To Lose Weight Exercising

Generally, my exercise during this time would be walking workout routines. Nothing too strenuous. Whether it be walking around the building at lunch time or doing Walk Away the Pounds dvd in the evenings after work.

Another thing that helps me is to eat healthy foods that fill me up like watermelon. I did really well once with losing weight quickly by drinking lots of water, eating canned tuna, with crackers and having watermelon on the side.

At the time, before I knew better, I would also have a Slim Fast Shake. Now I know a protein shake would have been a lot better for me. If you're going to use a meal replacement, do your research first.

Quick Ways To Lose Weight With A 3 Day Cleanse

Shakeology is a product used by beachbody customers to jump start weight loss, cleanse the body of toxins, etc...bottom line, it's healthy. So again, pick a healthy meal replacement shake to do this 3 day cleanse.

This is not a Master Cleanse, but it does promote flushing gunky stuff from your body and will regulate your hydration levels.

Remember earlier I mentioned lowering your calorie intake. Well the 3 Day Cleanse should put you around 1500 or so calories per day and will be more than enough to be considered healthy as far as quick weight loss is concerned.

But, the good thing is that the nutrients you get from Shakeology are all healthy and help bring your body back to the state of homostasis ("the body's ability to physiologically regulate its inner environment to ensure its stability in response to fluctuations in the outside environment and the weather...")

I got great results with this cleanse. And others have as well. I lost 7 pounds, but others have reported losing far more than that.It really depends on your body.

Three Day Shakeology Cleanse Summary

Have 3 Shakeology Shakes per day- If the shakes are plain (Shakeology and water only) you can add three pieces of fruit.

Have a Salad in evening:
  • Unrestricted veggies
  • 4 oz protein
  • 2 Tbs of an olive oil/vinegar dressing
Note: For fatty acids, each salad will also contain 1 Tbs of chia seeds (or flaxseed or hempseed)

Drink plenty of water:

Coffee, tea, and herb teas are fine also, as long as they don’t have additives.

That's it! As I said I've had great results with Shakeology. I still use it as a meal replacement daily or sometimes as a snack.

In Conclusion...

The other quick ways to lose weight discussed above also work, but if your quick weight loss isn't done properly with exercise and healthy calorie reduction, you will re-gain weight like I did. Probably more than you lost. The best thing you can do for your body and your health in general is to start exercising regularly and work toward eating a healthier diet- this way, quick ways to lose weight are no longer an issue.
