What Are The Best Tricep Workout Routines?

The Best Tricep Workout Routines Are Targeted

Below are best tricep workout routines I've used to get results. Now I'm not an expert by any means but I do know how to find information. So here's what I learned about working the tricep muscles and attacking those jiggly arms we all hate. The best Tricep workout routines will engage the three tricep muscles located on the back of the upper arm. Tricep means three-headed muscle. The three heads are: Long head, Lateral head, and Medial head.

Best Tricep Workout Routines- The Tricep Muscles

"The Lateral head is located on the outward facing side of the humerus. This head is most responsible for the horseshoe shape of the Triceps.

The Medial head is located towards the midline of the body. The Long head is along the bottom side of the humerus and is the largest..." (www.fitstep.com)

Best Tricep Workout Routines-In the case of women

... Triceps are flabby because they aren't used very much and because the skin in this area is thinner than and is also one of the places on a woman's body where fat is stored.

Since there is excess fat involved, that means we're going to have to do workout routines that burn fat (in addition to working the muscles) if we really want to see results. To get the calorie burn, there's going to have to be some cardio involved.

For cardio the standard is at least 30 minutes per day- five to six times a week (most days of the week).

Cardio in conjunction with targeted muscle exercise will do the trick. Make sure you are in your fat-burning zone. I use a heart rate monitor to track calories burned, minutes in fat-burning zone, and heart rate.

Workout Routines- Tricep Muscles Workout Video

Watch in this video as Tony Horton explains why Cardio is necessary to attack Jiggly Arms and demonstrates the best tricep workout routines: Kickbacks, Tricep Raises, and Side Tri-Rise. I love Side Tri Rise!

I just completed my P90X Chest, Shoulders & Tricep workout the day before I'm writing this. So the tricep workout routines are fresh in my mind.

In the Chest, Shoulders & Tricep workout there are several exercises that target the tricep muscles:
  • Chair Dips: This truly is one of the best tricep workout routines . The motion of pushing the body¬ís weight up targets the tricep muscle group. This is a maximum repetition (reps) exercise, so do as many as you can. Feel free to take a break in between. A more advanced move is to lift one leg off the floor every 5 reps.

  • Side Tri-Rise: Watch The Video. For this exercise, you lie on your side, place the arm closest to the floor in front of you and the other arm behind your head. Once you are in position, try to push yourself all the way up until your arm is straight. This exercise too is a maximum rep exercises. So keep going until you can't do any more. Once you're done switch to the other side.

  • Overhead Triceps Extension: Watch The Video Demonstration I've used this exercises in both Walk Away The Pounds, P90X, and Brazil Butt Lift. Hold both dumbbells overhead with your arms completely straight, bring the dumbells together over your head. Lower them behind your head and then lift them both back up to full overhead extension and repeat. Use dumbells (light enough for you to control). Careful not to lean back during these workout routines.

  • Best Tricep Workout Routines - The Tricep Muscles-Lying Triceps Extension: This is a common of tricep workout routines. I've used this exercises in Brazil Butt Lift and P90X. It's another another classic triceps exercise.Form is very important during these workout routines. Lie on your back. Extend both arms up (completely straight) holding the dumbbells overhead. Then bend at the elbows bringing both dumbbells down behind your head-not into our head. Be careful. Then lift the dumbells over head again. Again, form is very important. If you start to struggle or lose form STOP! You are done.
